Help United Way of South Texas through its VITA Program (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program) to assist low-to-moderate income families earning a yearly household income of $60,000 or less in providing free tax preparation services. - VITA Volunteers will serve as “Tax preparers” under the supervision of two experienced site coordinators.
- "Tax Preparers" are volunteers that are trained and certified to become tax preparers. Visit United Way of South Texas.org to sign up for the training. All volunteers must be trained and IRS certified before volunteering at a VITA site.
- VITA Volunteers must follow all COVID-19 CDC guidelines and procedures at each site. NO EXEMPTIONS.
- VITA Volunteers are welcome to volunteer at any 11 operating VITA sites.
The VITA Program provides meaningful volunteer opportunities in which volunteers have a "real" impact on the clients.
