October is Native Plant Month- celebrate native plants by making room for them to grow! Volunteer with the Center for Urban Ecology for a morning of habitat protection and a little bit of exercise.
From 9:00-11:00am, we’ll be tackling one of our worst invasive species; the Coral Vine (Antigonon leptopus). The vine rapidly grows from tubers, covering shrubs and trees in a smothering blanket of leaves. Left unchecked, it can cover large areas and hurt our natural habitat. Volunteers will also go home with a free native plant!
Volunteers must complete the volunteer application form by clicking here.
Wear comfortable shoes, pants, and bring your water bottle. Gloves, tools, and ice water will be provided.
