The Earth x Space Celebration is a free, family-friendly community event that brings together science, sustainability, education, and exploration. Held in Mercedes, Texas, the celebration connects families and young people with hands-on STEM activities, environmental organizations, astronomy experiences, community resources, and opportunities to imagine future careers.
Volunteers will support event operations and assist in creating a welcoming and engaging experience for attendees throughout the celebration. Duties may include:
- Event setup and decoration
- Guest welcome and registration
- Activity booth assistance
- Youth STEM activity support
- Exhibitor and presenter assistance
- Crowd guidance and event navigation
- Photography and social media support
- Cleanup and event breakdown
- Serving as event ambassadors throughout the celebration
Requirements
- Comfortable interacting with families, children, and community members.
- Volunteers should be prepared to work outdoors for portions of the event.
- Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods as needed.
