As an Ambassador of the Arts for the McAllen Performing Arts Center, you will serve as ticket takers and or ushers to various events hosted in our new, state of the art facility.
Your responsibilities are as follow:
*Assist Patrons courteously and efficiently
*Ensure the safety of the Attendees by assisting them to their assigned seats
*Assist House Manager during and after performances
*Preparing the theatre for the scheduled performance
*Promote McAllen Performing Arts Center
An Ambassador’s responsibility is to be helpful, courteous, tactful and professional while helping our patrons enjoy their visit to the McAllen Performing Arts Center. It is also important to be supportive and kind to your fellow ambassadors and McAllen Performing Arts Center staff.
Pre-requisites:
- Minimum age of 18
- Submit a background check form and release of liability
- Volunteer for a minimum of 2 shows per month
- Each volunteer will be required to attend an Ambassador of the Arts Training prior to first shift
Requirements:
It is important that all Ambassadors meet the following requirements so we can provide the best customer service possible. Volunteers must:
- Arrive 15 mins prior to selected shift
- Make a minimum commitment of two shifts per month (a total of 5-10 hours)
- Be able to stand for a minimum of one hour
- Be able to navigate multiple sets of stairs
- Be able to lift up to 30lbs
- Be able to read all forms of tickets: printed, printed at home, and on a mobile device
- Have a valid email address that they can check often
- Provide a direct phone line
- Be willing to manage their schedule through our online tool
- Wear a uniform and must be able to provide the following to complete their uniform:
- Long sleeved white button up, collared shirt
- Black dress pants with black socks and black shoes (no open front or back)
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background check in order to participate as an ambassador of the arts with the McAllen Performing Arts Center. Applicants will receive an email on how to complete the required application and background check. Approved applicants will also be notified of an upcoming mandatory orientation.
