The Community Council of the Rio Grande Valley in partnership with Texas Information and Referral Network provides information and referral services through the program “2-1-1 Texas”. “2-1-1 Texas” is a resource and information center that connects people with community, health and disaster services through a free, 24/7 free and confidential phone service and searchable online website www.211texas.org 2-1-1 serves the entire population of the Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties.
What We Do
Every hour of every day, someone searches for services, from substance abuse treatment to care for a child or aging parent, food, housing or financial assistance. By dialing 2-1-1, clients are linked to a live highly-trained Information & Referral Specialist who will help them navigate resources by assessing their needs and then matching them to the best and closest resource in their community.
