Who We Are

The McAllen Kids Marathon Kickoff Event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at 8 a.m. at the McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2001 Bicentennial Blvd. (next to McHigh) in conjunction with McAllen ISD's Let's Move! Schools Pep Rally.

The McAllen Kids Marathon is FREE and co-sponsored by The Monitor, City of McAllen, McAllen ISD, Telemundo 40, UnitedHealthcare, Texas A&M Healthy South Texas and Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Children ages K-8th grades are invited to come to the Kickoff and run/walk their first mile in the stadium. Then they will log their miles over the next 18 weeks. They must complete 25 miles prior to the Final Mile event, which will be held on Jan. 14, 2017 at the McAllen Convention Center. That day all children will run their Final Mile to earn a finisher's medal for completing their 26.1 mile-marathon journey!

Children also will receive a free T-shirt and water bottle from Texas A&M Healthy South Texas.

For more information, and to register and log miles, go to: www.mcallenkidsmarathon.com

What We Do
