Needs From: United Way of South Texas

Volunteer: Pinwheels Prevention: Event Logistics & Guest Services Assistant

Volunteer Opportunity – Pinwheels for Prevention

Become part of something meaningful and impactful by volunteering at the Pinwheels for Prevention community event on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Buckner RGV, located at 3780 N. Bentsen Palm Drive in Mission, Texas.

This event is part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the pinwheel serves as the national symbol of hope, joy, and the bright, healthy childhoods all children deserve.

We are recruiting volunteers who want to serve alongside local families, community partners, and other students to make this event successful and welcoming. Volunteer responsibilities may include:

Assisting with event setup and tear down

Managing games and activities

Directing guests and helping with parking flow

Helping with popcorn and refreshment stations

Taking photos and engaging with participants

Supporting Buckner staff and partner agencies during the event

This is a great way to build community connections, gain volunteer experience, and serve families in the Rio Grande Valley. Please plan to wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and a hat for outdoor activities. Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided to all volunteers.
