On January 30th, AHSTI will be demolishing Ms. Mustaffa's home, which is in substandard condition. She's a retired, spirited lady who volunteers at McAllen Medical Center and Salvation Army.
Through our New Beginnings Program, a partnership between AHSTI and the City of McAllen, we will provide a brand new frame home on her property for $1.00 (She will continue to pay home insurance and property taxes).
So she won't incur a cost on the demolition, we need volunteers to help!
- Location: 1216 S. Main St. McAllen, Texas 78501
- Date: January 30, 2016
- Time: 8:00 AM – ??? (typically we will be done by 1-2pm)
- Job: Tear down (gutting a dilapidated house) and dispose of debris/trash to roll-off container on-site.
- We will be providing limited work materials such as sledge hammers, crow bars, gloves, googles, and hard hats. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own as well.
- Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver on-site provided by Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc.
