As a CASA volunteer, you will gather information, build relationships with the child and the professionals involved in their case, and provide the court with objective recommendations focused on the child's safety, well-being, and permanency.
Why Volunteer with CASA?
- Serve as a consistent, independent advocate for a child during court proceedings.
- Gain experience working alongside attorneys, judges, educators, healthcare providers, and child welfare professionals.
- Develop skills in interviewing, communication, critical thinking, and report writing.
- Receive comprehensive training and ongoing support from CASA staff.
- Contribute to a more informed decision-making process for children in foster care.
Who Can Volunteer?
No prior experience is required. We are looking for compassionate, dependable individuals who are willing to listen, learn, and commit to advocating for a child's best interests.
This opportunity is especially valuable for students interested in law, social work, psychology, education, public policy, healthcare, or nonprofit leadership, but volunteers from all academic backgrounds are welcome.
