IMAS is looking for enthusiastic and outgoing volunteers to assist at the Girl Scouts Day event on June 13, 2026 from 10 AM – 1 PM. This community event welcomes Girl Scouts from the Rio Grande Valley to enjoy a variety of hands-on activities related to various Badges from the 2025-2026 workshop season. Badge related activities will be inspired by Special Agent, Detective, Craft & Tinker, Outdoor Art, Space Science Researcher and Art & Design Badges. Volunteers will provide museum visitors will assist IMAS Education staff in activity areas. Duties includes distributing materials, assisting with instruction and helping keep a tidy workplace for incoming visitors.

*Volunteers will be placed in activity areas based on priority needs and volunteer registration. *

Shift: (3 hrs., 15 minutes) - 9:45 am – 1:00 pm

- Craft & Tinker – DIY flashlight
Help visitors make their own DIY flashlight as they learn how to create a simple circuit with popsicle sticks and a coin battery.

- Outdoor Art – Clay Nature Impressions
Guide visitors in the art making process of clay nature impressions. Visitors will create their own small portion of salt dough clay and will then imprint a collection of plants, leaves, or shells to take home.

- Art & Design – Collage Button Making Station
Get Artsy and create some wearable swag! Volunteers will assist visitors on steps to making their button! Create the button artwork and then use the button machine to create the final piece!

- Special Agent & Detective – Fingerprint Analysis
No fingerprint is the same! Volunteers will assist visitors as they learn to record their fingerprints with ink pads. Learn about common fingerprint patterns as you create your own fingerprint booklet!

The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is seeking support for Operation Imagination Day Camp – Week 6: Ecology Explorers and Science Fusion.

Participants will assist the education team in facilitating STEM and environmental science activities, preparing lab and experiment materials, supporting campers in hands-on investigations, and guiding structured learning experiences in ecology, biology, physics, and engineering concepts.

Participants are expected to remain engaged, professional, and supportive throughout the full camp schedule.

Schedule:
Monday–Friday
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Dates: July 20 – July 24

Requirements:
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must commit to a full week
• Must follow IMAS camp rules and regulations

The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is seeking support for Operation Imagination Day Camp – Week 5: Artful Creators and Paints and Prints.

Participants will assist the education team in supporting art-based camp activities, helping prepare creative materials, guiding campers through visual arts projects, and facilitating structured hands-on experiences in painting, printmaking, and mixed media exploration.

Participants are expected to maintain a positive, professional, and supportive presence throughout all scheduled activities.

Monday–Friday
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Dates: July 13 – July 17

The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is seeking support for Operation Imagination Day Camp – Week 4: Dig Into Earth and World of Water.

Participants will assist the education team in facilitating science-based camp activities, preparing and organizing materials, supporting hands-on experiments, and guiding campers through structured learning stations. Activities may include earth science exploration, water conservation demonstrations, engineering challenges, and interactive group learning experiences.

Participants are expected to remain professional, attentive, and actively engaged throughout the full camp schedule.

Dates: July 6 – July 10

The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is seeking support for Operation Imagination Day Camp – Week 3: Clay Lab.

Participants will assist with art-based activities, support campers in clay and sculpture projects, help prepare materials, and guide hands-on creative learning experiences throughout the week.

Participants are expected to be responsible, attentive, and actively engaged during all assigned shifts.

Schedule:
Monday–Thursday
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Dates: June 15 – June 18 (no camp on Friday due to Juneteenth observance)
