Volunteer: Behavioral Health Practicum & Internship Student Placement

PDAP offers practicum and internship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, and other related behavioral health fields. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive, recovery-focused environment while working alongside experienced professionals.

Practicum students may assist with individual and group services, community outreach initiatives, substance use prevention efforts, and other program activities while developing practical counseling and professional skills. This opportunity also supports individuals seeking supervised experience toward the requirements for becoming a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).

This placement provides meaningful, real-world experience for students interested in behavioral health, addiction recovery, counseling, and community-based support services.

Volunteer/Practicum Duties May Include:

Assist with substance use prevention and recovery programs Support group sessions and client-centered activities Participate in community outreach and education initiatives Develop professional counseling and case support skills Work alongside experienced behavioral health professionals
