Friends For Hope

Friends for Hope is an organization of young adults in the Upper Rio Grande Valley dedicated to helping local children suffering from cancer. The mission of Friends for Hope is to raise funds for the Vannie E. Cook, Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic, provide volunteers to support the clinic staff, and to help create community awareness about the clinic and the needs of the young patients that it serves.

Friends for Hope’s dedication to the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic in McAllen, the only fully comprehensive children’s cancer clinic in South Texas, is shown through the annual patient events, various social mixers, and fundraisers. Net proceeds from all events are donated to Clinic. Since its founding, Friends for Hope has successfully raised and donated over $2,500,000 to the clinic.  Friends for Hope has helped the clinic to remain true to its mission of never turning a child away for his or her inability to pay.
