Children's Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County, Inc./Estrella's House

Who We Are

The Children's Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County was established in June of 2000 and is 1 of 68 centers if the state of Texas dedicated to the coordination of the investigation of child abuse cases.

Our Mission is to reduce the emotional trauma of child abuse victims by facilitating a multidisciplinary approach, which supports the prevention of child abuse through community education and promotes the effective prosecution of those who perpetrate crimes against children.

Since 2001, the Children's Advocacy Center has served over 14,000 children ages 2 to 17 in both Hidalgo and Starr Counties.

What We Do

As part of the multidisciplinary model the Children's Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County works in partnership with the District Attorney's Office, Law Enforcement Agencies and Child Protective Services from both Hidalgo and Starr Counties to facilitate the investigation of child abuse cases.

Our direct program services include Family Advocacy, Forensic Interviewing, and Mental Health services which are provided to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members.
